J. Kehaulani Kauanui hosts an episode focused on new developments in Anarchist Studies-research, scholarship, education, and theorization that about anarchism and/or informed by anarchism. The recently established North American Anarchist Studies Network (NAASN) (founded at the inaugural conference held in Hartford, Connecticut, USA on November 21-22, 2009) has been thriving and the 2nd annual conference will take place on January 15-16, 2011, at the Steel Workers’ Hall in Toronto, Canada. The show feature interviews with one of the organizers of the first NAASN conference, and two other people organizing the 2nd annual NAASN conference (January 15-16, 2011 at the Steel Workers’ Hall in Toronto, Canada) : Jesse Cohn, Associate Professor of English Purdue University North Central and author of a book titled, Anarchism and the Crisis of Representation; Tammy Kovich, an activist and Ph.D student in political science at York University whose research interests center on the theorization of dissent, anarchist theory, and the study of social movement practices; and Jasmin Mujanovic, also a Ph.D. student at York University, whose research focuses on anarchist and “anarchic” approaches to anti-colonialism and anti-nationalism, especially in the Balkans.
