Hosts Meggie McGuire and Kevin Hayes focus on the politics of collectives- both intentional living communities and collectively run organizations. The show features an interview with Emma, a member of the Beehive Design Collective—a collective graphics workshop that creates political posters, graphics and mosaics. The Beehive Design Collective’s mission is “To cross-pollinate the grassroots, by creating collaborative, anti-copyright images that can be used as educational and organizing tools.” This episode also features an interview with Jess, a long-time resident of Acorn intentional community, which is a secular, egalitarian community, founded in 1993 that is committed to income-sharing and sustainable living. These perspectives are contextualized and tied together in a theory segment on collective life and work by Diego Glusberg. The interviews are sandwiched by the regular Indy Media Round-up segment and music from Mischief Brew and The Heathers and a special live performance by The Good Habits. Original air-date: 9-28-10.
